After Milne I went to Albany College of Pharmacy just across from the Albany Medical Center. Even though it was a five year program I received a BS. I graduated in 1968 and passed my boards the first time to the shock of many professors. I'd like to think it was due to the programs and especially the people I met at Milne.
I went to practice hospital pharmacy at Crouse-Irving
Memorial hospital in Syracuse, NY. I worked for a few years to pay off my college
bills and save a few bucks so I could travel. I bought a VW microbus and headed
off across the country to visiit the National Parks and other places I had read about. It was a great way to see the country and decide where I would eventually like to live. A few months later I returned to the central New York area
and worked in the small town of Cortland, NY. Although this is NOT where I wanted
to stay I was there to meet my future and present bride. It was where a guy from Albany
could meet a woman from Buffalo in the middle of the state. Serendipity...the story
of my life.
We married in 1975 and have moved a couple of times. We first
moved to Roanoke,Virginia where I started with the Department of Veteran Affairs. We explored much of the historic state for three years and then transferred to Tampa/St Petersburg, Florida, which is where I always wanted to live. I
now have 31 years of service as of June 2007. As I look back it seems like a dream,
but as I wait until our 45 year reunion, I look forward to meeting you all again.
