Sue (Garman) Hess reports:
Here are the photos of the new Public School #16 on North Allen Street in Albany, NY. These pictures
were taken on November 1, 2006 shortly before the school reopened in January 2007. The
original School 16 had too much asbestos for it to be rehabilitated cost effectively, so it was completely torn
down and a new school was built. I was really surprised the day I drove by and saw no school there at all.
In front of the school on Allen Street is a
pull through for cars to drop off and pick up children. In the front yard you will also see new desks
in boxes to the right of the truck and metal folding chairs and tables to the left of the truck. The back yard
is surrounded by a fence.
